Go Ape! - They don't call this the Great Yorkshire Forest for nothing. Hilltop-to-hilltop zire wires and a plunging valley below are just two of the features that make the Dalby Forest course so popular. It’s not in the dictionary, but if it was, Go Ape would be described as a ‘high-wire forest adventure’. That means we build giant obstacle courses up in the trees using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire, and top it all off with the country’s best zip lines. We then kit people out with harnesses, pulleys and karabiners and let them loose into the forest canopy. The result is spectacular.

Purple Mountain Bike Centre - Mountain Biking can provide the ideal opportunity to discover the unspoiled beauty of Dalby Forest. The Purple Mountain hire centre is based in Low Dalby, a small, lively village, in Dalby Forest, near Pickering. Being at the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors, it is well situated for exploring the rugged moorland and gentle picturesque valleys and dales. Bikes are supplied with helmet, pump, repair kit. We have a range of children's bikes, including towalongs, childseats, and even a tandem.

Boltby Pony Trekking & Trail Riding Centre - is based on a working farm in the village of Boltby itself.  From Boltby,  on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, we are fortunate to be able to access a wide variety of excellent bridleways, forestry, hills and moor land trails, affording stunning scenery and fantastic riding. We have a range of horses and ponies and can cater for beginners as well as experienced riders. Our rides range from 30  minute introductory rides for children, to 1 and 2 hour treks. These are rides are available all year round, in the summer we run longer trail rides.

The Yorkshire Gliding Club - Gliding in Yorkshire is something special. Whether you're a trainee pilot, a gliding pundit, or a member of the public wanting to try something new, the YGC is a great place to be. We're open 364 days a year, offer full-time professional instruction and maintain a fleet of modern gliders. If you're new to gliding, why not buy a Trial Lesson voucher? This gets you a flight in a two-seat glider with an instructor, and will give you a taste of the sport. Trial Lesson vouchers make ideal Christmas or birthday gifts.

Whitby Golf Club - is situated on the western side of Whitby on the road to the pretty coastal village of Sandsend and has a commanding position on the edge of the cliffs There are wonderful views along the coast, north-westward over the picturesque bay of Sandsend to Kettleness, south-eastward over the harbour with the Abbey Ruins set in relief and inland over the rolling panorama of the North Yorks Moors. It is the ideal type of holiday course, not too long or difficult for the moderate player provided a reasonable degree of accuracy is achieved. The degree of driving difficulty on many an occasion is decided by the prevailing wind which may come from either the North Sea or the moors.
